About the team
The Data Science Platform (DSP) team is tasked with building out AI capabilities throughout Gojek. We are building out these capabilities through both our Machine Learning Platform and also by building solutions that bridge data science and product engineering.
Our work encompasses:
Collaboration with data scientists and product teams in the development of innovative AI solutions.
Development of an end-to-end platform that enables ML practitioners to rapidly experiment and deliver AI solutions to production.
Production support for all systems deployed to the platform, thus freeing up data scientists from the operational burden while benefiting from economies of scale.
Use of our domain expertise to enable AI innovation throughout Gojek in the form of wide collaboration, education, and the introduction of best practices.
This role requires a deep understanding of the machine learning life cycle and how data scientists turn hypotheses into production systems. You will be tasked with designing and building the products that data scientists leverage at each stage of the machine learning life cycle, ensuring a rapid time to market for ML projects.
Work with CDO and Data Science Platform team to formulate OKRs and deliver the key results/goals of the team.Represent the needs of the DSP team to external stakeholders and senior management. Communicate DSP strategy to all stakeholders in the company. Manage stakeholder expectations while DSP leads and managers focus on delivering.Promote key DSP initiatives such as ML Platform to the rest of the company.Drive adoption of engineering best practices in the broader Data organisation.Establish partnerships between DSP and the various DS and engineering teams.Work with CDO and DSP team on scalable and reliable ML services, implementing ML/AI solutions which yield a competitive advantage, and improving the productivity of data scientists, decision scientists, analysts at Gojek.Continue to stay abreast of the latest technologies in Machine learning and AI space to inform the right choice between build vs buy.Acquire great talent and mentor them. Grow current talent to become better leaders.
Keen understanding of modern Agile engineering practices and data science concepts. This is not a hands-on role, but we are a deeply technical organization. Past experience in leading a sizeable (20+) data analytics or data engineering team.Track record of working within large organizations at a management level with business, product, and engineering. Able to manage up and down. Experience working in multinational companies. Frequent (50%) regional travel is expected.Startup experience much preferred. Able to operate in unstructured or poorly defined environments across organizational boundaries to Get Things Done. Product development experience is a plus.Experience with managing the delivery of large, complex projects, especially data analytics projects, is a plus.Experience scaling teams up from 10s to 100s is a plus.
