The Product Management team sets the strategy, roadmap, and feature definition for products across the Gojek ecosystem. This team of 100+ product managers come from diverse backgrounds and skill sets to address the varying needs of consumers, merchants, drivers and internal business users.
The team partners with enormously talented researchers, designers, engineers, data scientists and analysts to build, release and measure the impact of these products. The PM team is responsible for guiding the success of a product and leading the cross-functional team accountable for timely releases.
About the role:
The Group Program Manager (PgM) is part of a small senior leadership group within Program Management and reports directly to the Global Head of Program Management. In this role, you will serve as a trusted, strategic advisor to senior management in assessing business opportunities, strategy, and team health/morale.
This is a working manager role that will be responsible for establishing team quality standards and a learning curriculum to perpetuate and instill excellence within the Program Management function. You will have up to six senior Program Managers direct reports. As the Group Program Manager for the Product Management Department, you are ultimately responsible for the overall success of the entire Program Management team, which includes your direct reports and their corresponding direct reports of up to six people per department.
A key objective is to ensure that the plans and priorities created by your direct PgM reports and the PgM organization are effectively coordinated and executed—all in the midst of a fast pace of change. Additionally, you will act as a mentor to the PgM team by architecting strategies for career growth goals, speaking as the voice of experience, and ensuring operational excellence.
The role requires deep functional expertise and will play a critical part in driving operational rigor to grow programs and projects in both the PgM org and across the company from an inception stage to a scaled and stable execution. The role will be responsible for implementing and operationalizing Program Management programs for the PgM org and other vital team functions as necessary across all Gojek offices in Indonesia, India, and Singapore. Your primary internal stakeholders will be Product Management team leadership, the Program Management org and people partners/human resources.
You will also be a point of contact between the execution team, cross-functional stakeholders, and leadership. It will be the Group PgM’s ultimate responsibility to drive collaboration between all parties involved in order to prioritize, schedule and deliver on time.
This role will be based out of Jakarta, Indonesia.
What you’ll do/ Responsibilities:
Exhibit excellent critical thinking skills around new initiatives to foresee issues and resolve them before problems reach a critical stage.
Address gaps and inefficiencies across the organization, while supporting the growth and evolution of the PgM function.
Act as a thought leader to your team while overseeing the design of project execution plans in close collaboration with leads from multiple cross-functional teams. Maintain momentum across the team to keep projects on track.
Showcase empathetic leadership and vision in managing your direct reports and collaborating with other employees.
Prioritize when all projects, programs, or issues are deemed “urgent” by assessing what will have the most positive impact on the business while weighing it against other projects/programs.
View programs and roll-out through the lens of scaling on global level by utilizing tools, roadmap, and processes.
Build stronger collaboration between our offices, help to reconcile country-specific operational differences and create flexible processes that can be adapted to each location.
Working hours and time zone adaptability. The role will require time shifting on a weekly/monthly basis to collaborate and virtually meet with teams based in various regions around the globe.
Navigate a global, matrix-organization and while maintaining positive, authentic relationships.
Be willing to dive into the trenches and have a “no job too small” mentality.
What you’ll need/ Requirements:
Min 15 years of experience in program and/or project management
Executive level experience managing, mentoring and supporting a team of direct reportsDemonstrable track record of managing large-scale & complex rollouts end to end
Ability to quickly ramp up on new concepts to keep up with the changing environment
Excellent written & verbal communication skills focused on improving collaboration, understanding & information exchange across all stakeholders
